Who We Are
Shanghai Matsuo Steel Structure Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 1996 as a wholly Japanese-owned enterprise by Matsuo Bridge Co., Ltd. of Japan (“Matsuo”). In 2005, China Nanshan Development (Group) Incorporation (“CNDI”), a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, invested in the company, transforming it into a Sino-Japanese joint venture with state-owned majority ownership. In 2009, the Japanese shareholder changed from Matsuo Bridge Co., Ltd. to IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. (“IIS”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the IHI Group. The company is located at the “First Bend of the Huangpu River” in Fengxian District, Shanghai, across the river from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zizhu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and the Grand NeoBay Science and Technology Innovation Center. The first station after the planned extension of Shanghai Metro Line 15 crosses the Huangpu River will be located in this area. The company currently occupies a site of 131,000 square metres and has an in-house annual production capacity of 30,000–40,000 tonnes, enabling it to undertake large-scale, high-quality overseas engineering projects.
