Shanghai Matsuo Steel Structure Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 1996 as a wholly Japanese-owned enterprise by Matsuo Bridge Co., Ltd. of Japan (“Matsuo”). In 2005, China Nanshan Development (Group) Incorporation (“CNDI”), a subsidiary of China Merchants Group, invested in the company, transforming it into a Sino-Japanese joint venture with state-owned majority ownership. In 2009, the Japanese shareholder changed from Matsuo Bridge Co., Ltd. to IHI Infrastructure Systems Co., Ltd. (“IIS”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the IHI Group.
